This article outlines important terms found in the rental agreement. It may seem daunting or intimidating, but hey, we are adults here! We want to ensure that both parties understand their rights and obligations throughout the rental period. Our responsibility: The management of LJT Car Rental attests that to the best of its knowledge, all the vehicles rented out are in good working condition. The renter is given the opportunity to inspect the car before the borrowing term begins to confirm the car is in good operable condition.
Requirement: The renter should present a legal, valid driver license, with no outstanding warrants against said license. It is expected that the renter whose license number is specified in the contract will be the only one driving the rented car.

Responsible renting: The renter understands that the car is for use only for within- the- province transfer and that it will not be driven to places where road access is not conveniently passable by vehicle. He/ she agrees to use the car only for routine, legal purposes (personal/business). He/ she further agrees to follow all city, town, country and government rules and regulations regarding use and operation of cars. He/ she agrees to pay the corresponding amount, indemnity, and release the owner for any damages, injuries, property loss, or death caused while the renter operates this vehicle.

Payment: Payments can be made cash, fund transfer, GCash, PayMaya, PayPal, or thru credit card. Card payments are subject to 3.5% bank charge for local cards or 4.5% for international cards. Upon booking, renter is required to pay at least P1500 reservation fee. All other fees can be paid on the day we release the car to him/ her.

Fees: Aside from the daily rent, we collect a security deposit of P1500 to P5000 depending on the car type, to be refunded upon return of the car and after it has been verified that the vehicle incurred no damage.
Other fees are optional like the delivery fee or pick up fee if the renter is unable to get/ return the car from/in our office. Carwash fee is collected only when the renter is unable to have the car washed before return.

Fuel: The renter shall return the car with the same gasoline status/level as when borrowed.

Change in price: The rental rate normally doesn’t change but if it does, it is usually for a lower rate because of promos.

One day rent: A one day rent means 24- hours use of the car. For example, if the renter gets the car at 1:00 PM, his or her one day rent will end at 1:00 PM the following day. However, one day rent is allowed only for within- the- city driving. For itineraries outside the city (beyond Brgy. San Rafael due North, and beyond Brgy. Inagawan due South), the minimum term of rate is two days to compensate for the wear on the car’s wheels for long drives.

Rental extensions: If the renter wishes to extend his/ her use of the car, he/ she needs to inform us at least one day ahead to ensure there is no conflict with other bookings. If the renter is unable to return the car at the time specified in the contract, an extension fee is charged per hour (P150 for hatchback and sedan, and P250 for van, SUV, pickup). For extensions beyond 5 hours, we charge a whole day’s rent.
Third- party insurance: The Owner swears that the vehicle is complete with third- party insurance, as required by law.

Collision damage insurance: Availing this insurance releases the renter from any obligation on the car repair and parts replacement, in case an accident happens, as long as it is determined that he/ she was using the car responsibly. In case the cost of damage was estimated by the car casa to be greater than P25,000, an additional participation fee (P3000 for hatchback and sedan, P5000 for 4×2 SUV and pick- up, P8000 for 4×4 SUV) will be collected. The insurance fee is non- refundable and covers only damages on the rented vehicle.

If the renter opts out of the collision insurance, he/ she agrees to pay the total amount of parts repair/ replacement, and 75% of the daily rate until the car is out of the repair shop. In case the security deposit is not enough to cover the damage, the renter is obliged to pay for the remaining amount (to be estimated by a licensed and certified car center). In case of total wreck, the renter shall pay an equivalent amount to the current value, within 7 days from the date of the incident/ accident.

Acts of nature: The Owner is not responsible for any unforeseen events beyond human control during the duration of this agreement (like broken/ damaged bridges, inaccessible/ impassable roads, etc. as caused by commotion, typhoon, or any natural calamity) that may damage or prevent the vehicle from reaching the destination on time.
In rare cases of a busted tire, broken engine or other reasons that the car cannot be driven anymore, the Owner shall send rescue to the renter, for free, again on the assumption of the renter’s responsible driving.

Violation of the contract: Any violation of the terms and conditions stated in the signed contract shall be grounds for the termination of the agreement. The Owner may demand/ request from the renter the restoration and return of the rented car. In case legal proceedings are involved, the renter shall defray all the court expenses, attorney’s fees, and legal interests.
